Allegations of cutting off part of the child's penis during circumcision

Part of a child's penis was cut off during circumcision in Palang upazila of Shariatpur. The child has been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

According to hospital sources, a local hajam (who performs circumcision) cut off a part of an eight-year-old child's penis during circumcision last Saturday in Palang upazila. After the incident, he bandaged the wound and ran away. The child was later admitted to a local hospital. There the doctors advised to send the child to Dhaka Medical College (Dhamek) Hospital. Later, the child was admitted to the pediatric surgery department of Dhaka Medical.
