According to KCNA, the head of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) visited North Korea from March 25 to 27. During the visit, he met North Korea's Minister of State Security, Ri Chang Dae.

KCNA reports that officials from the two countries have discussed increasing mutual cooperation between Russia and North Korea to counter the adversary's growing espionage and conspiracy activities.

Both Russia and North Korea are under global sanctions. The West, including the United States, imposed sanctions on Russia due to the attack on Ukraine. On the other hand, sanctions have been imposed on North Korea for nuclear weapons testing.
