Modesty is the unique beauty of human life. Everyone loves a humble person. Bonds of love are easily formed through modesty. The humble are called friends of Allah in the Holy Qur'an. It is in the Holy Qur'an, 'Your friends are Allah, His Messenger and the believers, who establish prayer, give zakat, and keep alms.' (Surah Ma'idah, verse: 55)

The Prophet (PBUH) said, 'He who humbles himself for the sake of Allah, Allah honors him. At that time, although he was insignificant in his own eyes, he was considered great in the eyes of people. (Bayhaqi, Hadith: 7,790)

One who shows modesty in every aspect of life, his speech, movement and walk are elegant. The Holy Qur'an says, 'And they are the Merciful (servants of the Merciful) who walk humbly on earth and say peace when the ignorant address them.' (Surah Furqan, Verse: 63)

They respond to the harsh words and insults of others with polite language instead of bad words.

The Prophet (PBUH) said, 'There is a special angel behind the head of every child of Adam. In his hand is a special object called Hakamah. Whenever a servant behaves modesty, that angel is told by Allah, raise the Hakamah. That is, increase his status. And whenever the slave becomes arrogant, it is said to leave the Hakamah. That is, insult him.' (Silsilah Sahiha: 535)

Commanding modesty and humility, Allah says, 'Do not stomp your feet on the ground. You can't even break the ground, you can't be as high as a mountain.' (Surah Bani Israel, verse: 37)

The behavior of the Prophet (PBUH) was a unique example of modesty and humility. Hadith says, 'He was a magnanimous man with a big heart. Foremost in truthfulness, unique in humility and gentleness, noble in manners. Whoever first saw him, feared him. But whoever mingled with him, started loving him.' (Jameh Tirmidhi)
