US university cancels top student's speech for 'accusation' of supporting Palestine

Addressing a pro-Palestinian website in the 'bio' of Asana Tabassum's Instagram profile. A section of students and alumni have been opposing it since he was elected valedictorian mainly on this 'complaint'. As a result, Tabassum's speech at the convocation ceremony was canceled by the university authorities citing the reason that the security of the campus could be disturbed.
Asana Tabassum also expressed her opinion after the release of the university statement. “I am honored to be selected as USC's 2024 valedictorian,” Tabassum said in a statement released by the Council on American-Islamic Relations-Los Angeles (CAIR-LA). It was supposed to be a time of celebration for my family, friends, teachers and classmates. But anti-Muslim, anti-Palestinian people are spreading hatred against me because of my uncompromising stance on human rights.
Stating that the university's decision deeply shocked him, Tabassum said, 'Those who spread hatred against me, they did not surprise me. But I was surprised by the decision of the authorities. How could my university, my four-year home, deny me?'
