Abdul Wahab, the owner of Janani Murgir Arat in Karwan Bazar, told Prothom Alo that the people of the city are now in the village. There is a great demand for chicken in the village during Eid. So chickens are not coming from villages to cities. Wholesalers are raising prices due to transportation and supply shortages. That's why the price is not going down. Since this is a long holiday, he thinks it will take another week to ten days for the market to normalize.

At the end of fasting, the price of chicken increases in the market. Then the businessmen of Dhaka claimed that the farmers kept the price of chicken high. There is an additional market. On the other hand, the farmers said that the price of chicken has increased due to the high price of chicks and production cost.

Mahmudul Hasan, a chicken farmer of Shyamnagar area of Satkhira, told Prothom Alo, 'If you calculate the production cost, the price of chicken per kg is around Tk 200. I sold it wholesale at a profit of 10 to 20 taka. And I sold chicken at retail for 230 to 240 taka per kg.
