Meanwhile, the letter given by the Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Bonaspati Manufacturers Association on Monday said that the SRO issued on February 7 for the import and production of edible oil raw materials has expired on April 15. As a result, edible oil (refined palm oil and refined soybean oil) will be supplied in the market at pre-VAT prices from April 16 and mill owners have announced that these prices will be effective in the market from today.

According to the letter to the Commerce Secretary, the price of bottled soybean oil has been increased by Tk 10 per liter to Tk 173. Apart from this, the price of bottled 5 liter soybean oil has been increased by Tk 845. As a result, the price of a 5 liter bottle will increase by 9 taka per liter. And the price of open palm oil per liter has been set at Tk 132.

Before fasting on March 1, when the price of 1 liter of bottled soybeans was reduced by Tk 10 to Tk 163, the price of 5 liters of bottled soybeans was fixed at Tk 800. At that time, the price of palm oil was not fixed because the price of palm oil was fluctuating in the international market. Now the companies have decided the price of palm.
