Turn off all electrical appliances in the house before leaving. Also keep the connections open. Cover with a clean, dry cloth. Be sure to turn off lights and fans. You can also empty the refrigerator and close it. If it is not possible to turn off the refrigerator, make sure that the earthing system in the house is good. And if the electricity connection is meter card based, then the estimated cost of running the refrigerator till return, should be there in the meter. Recharge if needed.

  • It's quite stormy. If there is a risk of any part of the plant falling on electric wires or poles outside the house during storm or wind, take appropriate measures in advance.

  • Be sure to keep the stove off. If there is a problem with the gas line, have it fixed by a qualified plumber.

  • It is better not to leave any flammable material in the house.

  • Turn off the water tap too. Drainage holes in sinks and bathroom floors can be covered with something heavy. Then the risk of insects coming up the water discharge pipe will be reduced.

  • Lower the commode lid. Mosquitoes will not get a chance to breed.
