Simon Harris is set to become Ireland's youngest Prime Minister

Simon Harris was born in 1986 in the coastal town of Greystones near Dublin. He is the son of a taxi driver. He enrolled in a journalism course in college. But he dropped out before it was over. Also doing a course in French in Dublin. However, after one year, he closed it too. Because, by then, Harris had decided he would become a politician.

Seeing his disabled younger brother, Simon Harris used to run awareness programs for the disabled. And this is how he entered politics. Later he started a charitable organization.

At the age of 16, Simon Harris joined Fine Gael in the youth wing. His political rise was soon followed.

Harris became Ireland's Minister of Health in 2016 at the age of just 29.
