At least 150 mortar shells exploded within half an hour. There was an earthquake in at least 17 villages including Saint Martin's island across Naf river, Shahpari island of Teknaf, Jaliapara, Nayapara of Sabrang union, Acharbunia, Chowdhurypara of Teknaf municipality, Netongpara, Rakhinepalli of Hnila union, Phule Dale, Moulvipara, Kharankkhali, Ulubnia of Hoikang union, Kanjarpara. The morning-afternoon blast continued till Wednesday evening.

According to several sources on the border, the government forces are not able to survive the long two-month war with the Arakan Army. In particular, the road communication system of Maungdoo Township has been destroyed by the war and the explosion of powerful mortar shells and grenade bombs in the last two months. Apart from that, there is an acute shortage of fuel and food.
