Abdur Rauf, a farmer who came to sell onions at Boalmari market, said, 'I have planted onions in two bigha of land. Out of this I got 45 maunds of onion from 1 bigha land. From that I brought five maunds of onions for sale. I left the rest of the onions at home.'

Raja Hossain, the vendor of this market, said that the market is on the rise due to the news of India's stoppage of onion exports. Farmers are also bringing less onion to the market than usual.

Sujanagar Upazila Agriculture Officer Rafiul Islam said that now the price of onion is being sold in the market, the farmer is getting profit. This price is also within the reach of the consumer. If the price falls more than this, it will not be profitable for the farmer.
