No more restrictions on student politics at BUET: Petitioner's counsel

Senior lawyer Shah Manjurul Haque heard on behalf of the writ in the court, accompanied by lawyer M Harunur Rashid Khan. Deputy Attorney General Samarendra Nath Biswas appeared for the state.

After the High Court's order, senior lawyer Shah Manjurul Haque told reporters, “The court has suspended the emergency notification by ruling.” As a result, there was no obstacle to doing student politics in BUET from now on.'

On October 6, 2019, BUET student Abrar Fahad was beaten to death at Sherebangla Hall. The court sentenced 20 people to death in the case. Five were sentenced to life imprisonment. The sentenced accused are the leaders and workers of Chhatra League.
