The Arakan Army, an armed group, continues to fight against junta forces in Myanmar's Rakhine state. The border guards of the country are fleeing to Bangladesh to save their lives, unable to withstand the strong attack of this group. Five border guards took refuge in Bangladesh yesterday and Sunday.

In all, 196 members of Myanmar's Border Guard Police (BGP) have entered Bangladesh so far, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. Bangladesh is continuing to negotiate with Myanmar to send them back within this month.

A senior official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka told Prothom Alo today that Bangladesh is preparing to send BGP members back to Myanmar as soon as possible. But due to bad weather they could not be sent back till now. In the meantime, BGP members fleeing from Rakhine and coming to Bangladesh are not stopping.
