It has been said that they will continue giving free rations to the poor for another five years after coming to power. All people above 70 years of age will be covered under the Ayushman Bharat insurance scheme and 80 per cent discount on medicines will be given at public medicine centres. The manifesto, however, remains unanswered on the question of giving legal validity to the minimum support price or MSP for farmers' crops from time to time. Nothing has been said about the appointment of vacant government posts for employment.

Other promises of the BJP include construction of 3 crore more concrete houses for the poor. Cheap cooking gas cylinders were earlier given under the 'Ujjbal' scheme. Now it has been said that cheap cooking gas will be delivered to the homes of the poor through pipelines. The electricity bills of the poor will be brought down to zero through solar power projects. Under the 'Mudra' scheme, the maximum loan limit will be increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh, so that crores of Indians can become entrepreneurs. It is not certain when the bullet train will start between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. However, Modi's guarantee in the resolution is that one bullet train will be run in North, South and East India as well. A survey has been started for this.

Narendra Modi was the moderator of the manifesto release ceremony. Party president JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and other top leaders were present.
