Market analysts say that the damage done by holding the market artificially for a long time with the floor price is the result of the current price fall. It is now clear that the floor price has created a multifaceted crisis for the market in the long term. On the one hand, foreign investors have lost confidence in this market, on the other hand, uncertainty has been created among the country's investors. Besides, there is a shortage of cash in the banking sector, so there is no chance of much money coming into the stock market. Due to these reasons, the market is continuously falling in price.

BSEC's former chairman Farooq Ahmed Siddiqui told Prothom Alo, 'Due to the floor price, there has been an extreme lack of confidence among foreign investors in our market. Apart from this, they are not able to send a large part of the dividends declared by the multinational companies to the foreign owners due to the dollar-crisis. Again due to increase in value of dollar foreigners are getting less profit. Due to these reasons, the sale of shares held by foreign investors has increased significantly.

Farooq Ahmed Siddiqui also said that the interest that is now available on deposits in the bank is more than the capital gains of the stock market. Therefore, there is not much interest in investing in the stock market among domestic and foreign investors.
