Many people in Madinah accepted Islam at the invitation of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Nowroz and Meherjan became forbidden for them. They came to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and expressed their desire for a valid festival. Two more years passed. Ramadan fasting became obligatory in 624 AD. At this time, Allah introduced two festivals in Islam instead of the two festivals of Jahili period. One is Eid-ul-Fitr, the other is Eid-ul-Azha.

In these two festivals, Muslims present unparalleled examples of mutual love, brotherhood, love and amity. Removes differences. Allah has not gifted any Ummah with two such blessed festivals before.

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, 'There are two joys for the fasting person. One is the joy of breaking the fast (Eidul Fitr), the other is the joy of meeting God (in the Hereafter).'
