Regarding the acquittal of the main accused, the lawyer for the accused said. Taifur Alam Prothom-aloK said that although Shahjahan was named as accused number 1 in the charge sheet, he did not have a confessional statement under section 164. His name was not even in the depositions of the accused who were sentenced to death. Because of which Shah Jahan was acquitted. Apart from this, the woman with whom the accusation of adultery was raised, the woman also told the court that Shahjahan is innocent. Accused No. 1 was acquitted due to weakness in the prosecution.

According to the details of the case, Gowarivhanga village of Homna upazila said. Shahnawaz Begum, the wife of Abdul Jalil, an expatriate from Saudi Arabia, was having an illicit relationship with Shah Jahan. Due to this, the accused premeditatedly took Jalil to Dhaka for treatment and disappeared the body after killing him by cutting his throat on the west side of the paved road near the Kera shrine of Baherkhola village in Homan from June 9 to June 10, 2013. The relatives of the deceased searched the hospital and its surroundings and found out that the body of an unidentified person was lying on the west side of Pakkar road near the Kera shrine. Later, the relatives identified Jalil's body after going to the spot.
