Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani is coming to Dhaka on April 22. In this two-day visit, cooperation in the energy sector between the two countries, along with the export of skilled manpower and expansion of trade and commerce, will be given importance.

According to sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after the official meeting of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with the Emir of Qatar during her visit to Dhaka, preparations are being made to sign about 10 agreements and memorandums of understanding (MOU) between the two countries on energy, manpower export, business and trade growth and security cooperation.

According to diplomatic sources in Dhaka and Doha, there are issues such as revision of air service agreement, maritime transport service agreement, withdrawal of double taxation, customs sector, higher education, scientific research, joint trade council and joint commission formation. Apart from this, Qatar has given a draft MoU to Bangladesh on prisoner extradition. However, it is not yet finalized for signature; The same source said that it will take time to finalize.
