But Djokovic didn't just break the boys' record as he held the top spot in the rankings at the oldest age. The WTA, i.e. women's tennis, also has no precedent for being at the top of the rankings at such an advanced age. On May 15, 2017, Serena Williams topped the WTA rankings for the last time in women's tennis. He was then 35 years and 230 days old. This is the record for the oldest peak in women's tennis.

Women's tennis has so far seen three players reach the age of 30 at the top—Serena Williams (35), Chris Evert (30) and Martina Navratilova.
