Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said that if Bangladesh is to be saved, Bengali culture should be kept alive. He said this at a discussion meeting organized on the occasion of Paila Baishakh at Bahadur Shah Park in Old Dhaka on Sunday morning.

Obaidul Quader said, 'Our history, our tradition, should be preserved in our consciousness. The current of Bengali culture should be carried forward like a flowing river.'

Addressing BNP, Obaidul Quader said, 'Today, there are no rakhadaks who support communalism and militancy. That BNP is the opponent and enemy of Bengali culture, the spirit of Bangladesh, the liberation war. This enemy must resist and defeat the evil forces in the spirit of the liberation war.'
