Awami League spent 3.5 million taka in the 12th parliamentary election

The law determines how much political parties can spend on candidates from the time the election schedule is announced until the end of the polls. If a party has more than 200 candidates, the maximum amount is 4 crore 50 lakhs, if the number of candidates is more than 100, but less than 200 candidates can spend 3 crores.

If the number of candidates of a party is 50 to 100, that party can spend 1.5 million taka and if the number of candidates is less than 50, the maximum can be spent 75 lakh taka.
There were 266 candidates of Awami League in the 12th National Parliament Election.

Expenditure accounts of political parties have to be submitted to the EC within 90 days of the end of polls. The 12th National Parliament election was held on January 7.

Today, a delegation led by Awami League presidium member Kazi Zafar Ullah EC Secretary Md. Jahangir submits statement of election expenses to Alam.
