Analysis of new fares: 33 kilometers by bus will reduce the cost by Rs

by endroar

The fare of minibuses plying in Dhaka and Chittagong metropolis and within districts under Dhaka Transport Coordinating Authority (DTCA) (Narayanganj, Munshiganj, Narsingdi, Gazipur, Manikganj and Dhaka districts) has been fixed at Tk 2.32 per kilometer.

The minimum fare for buses and minibuses plying in Dhaka and Chittagong cities has been maintained at Tk 10 and Tk 8 respectively.

The Road Transport and Highways Department has mentioned that the new fare will not be applicable to gas-powered buses and minibuses.

During the bus fare hike in 2022, it was said that the additional fare will not be applicable on CNG gas-powered buses. At that time, the employer-labor organizations claimed that gas-powered buses no longer run much. In front of the buses, diesel-powered vehicles started running. Now with the announcement of fare reduction, the question whether all buses charge less fare or not has come to the fore.
