Pabner Mahmudul (55), a patient suffering from diarrhea, died in Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. His body was lying on the balcony of ward number 17 of the hospital around 11:30 am. His wife Seema Begum was screaming beside the body, 'I will understand Kamba Kair to my daughter.' As soon as he said this, he fell on the floor.

Mahmudul's mother Nurunnahar was lamenting sitting at his feet. He said that he came to the hospital with his son at around 10:30 pm on Tuesday. There was no doctor then. His son died shortly after the arrival of the doctor at around 10:30 am on Wednesday. Relatives of other patients were standing in the balcony watching their cries. Some were consoling.

The strike called by Postgraduate Private Trainee Doctor Association and intern doctors is also going on at Rajshahi Medical College (RAMEC) Hospital for four-point demands including increase in allowances and ensuring safety at workplace. This has been disrupting medical services in this large hospital of North Bengal for four days. No intern doctor was found at the hospital. However, the authorities claim that even if there are no intern doctors, other doctors have kept the medical conditions of the hospital normal by performing additional duties. There is no problem.
