After 32 years of imprisonment, Mukt Shah Jahan got married and again in the case

Shahjahan Bhuiyan was born in Ichakhali village of Palash upazila of Narsingdi. He got involved in local politics after finishing high school examination. He was sentenced to 42 years in the murder and weapons case. His sentence was reduced to 32 years due to execution and other reasons. According to prison records, he was sentenced to 12 years for robbery on November 8, 1992, and 30 years for robbery and murder in another case on September 19, 1995.

Shahjahan's lawyer Osman Gani told Prothom Alo that Shahjahan left the area after getting into a dispute with a local chairman after giving the high school examination. He was released in June last year after almost three years of imprisonment.

According to prison records, Shahjahan Bhuiyan hanged 26 people during his imprisonment. Among them, he executed six murderers of Bangabandhu, Abdul Quader Molla, Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid, Salauddin Quader Chowdhury, Mir Kasem Ali and two militants of JMB who were sentenced to death for crimes against humanity in 1971.
