8th and 9th April office opening, then 5 consecutive days off

The cabinet did not accept the recommendation to extend the public holiday by one day (April 9) on the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr. As per the previous announcement, this Eid holiday will be on April 10, 11 and 12 for three days.

However, in reality government employees will enjoy more leave. Because Saturday, April 13 is a weekend. The next day Sunday is the first Baisakh holiday. That means there are five consecutive days off. Before this, April 7 is a public holiday on the occasion of the holy Shabbat. Prior to that, April 5 and 6 are Friday and Saturday weekends. As a result, if an officer-employee can take leave on April 8 and 9, then he can enjoy long leave.

In a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order held at the Secretariat last Sunday, it was recommended to extend the holiday on April 9 by one day. But it was not approved.
