Arrangements are being made to send back 180 Myanmar border guards and army personnel who have taken refuge in Bangladesh soon. Besides this, arrangements are being made to bring 170 Bangladeshis stranded in Myanmar to the country.

Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud gave this information in response to questions from journalists on Tuesday afternoon.

When asked about the repatriation of people from Myanmar, Hashan Mahmud said, '177 members of Myanmar's Border Guard Police (BGP) and later three of their army personnel have taken refuge in Bangladesh. The Myanmar government has agreed to take them back. They offered the sea route, we were hoping to send them back this week. But as the sea is not favourable, they will be sent next week or when the sea is calm.'
